These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Universal TV Remote application (“App”) published by Pankaj Gaikar (“Service Provider”, “we”, “us”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Universal TV Remote lets you discover and control compatible smart TVs on your local network (for example Android TV / Google TV, Roku, Samsung Tizen, and LG webOS, as supported in the App). Features may include pairing, D-pad / touchpad navigation, volume and media keys, text input, and quick app launch where the TV brand allows it.
The App is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Samsung, LG, Roku, Google, Amazon, Vizio, or other TV manufacturers unless explicitly stated. Brand names are used only to describe compatibility.
Subject to these Terms and Apple’s App Store terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Apple devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use—unless you have a separate commercial arrangement with us in writing.
You agree not to: reverse engineer or extract source code except where law permits; redistribute or resell the App; use the App unlawfully; interfere with other users’ networks or devices; attempt to bypass TV security or pairing prompts without authorization; or use the App to harass others or access TVs you do not own or have permission to control.
You are responsible for your Wi‑Fi network, TV firmware settings (for example enabling network remote / developer options where required), and Local Network permission on iOS. Discovery can fail on networks that block multicast or isolate clients. Manual device entry may be required.
TV behavior varies by model and firmware. Some commands, apps, or ports may be unavailable on a given TV.
The App does not require a Universal TV Remote account. Pairing credentials and saved devices remain on your device. You are responsible for securing your device and Apple ID.
Core features may be offered free of charge. Optional paid features, if any, are billed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple under App Store policies.
Where required, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies: Standard EULA.
The App uses Apple services (App Store, Keychain, Local Network APIs) and communicates with your TV using manufacturer protocols. Your use of Apple services is subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Apple Privacy Policy. Manufacturer TV software remains subject to that manufacturer’s terms.
The App, design, branding, and software belong to the Service Provider or licensors. Third-party trademarks remain the property of their owners.
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION, THAT EVERY TV MODEL WILL PAIR OR RESPOND TO EVERY COMMAND, OR THAT DISCOVERY WILL SUCCEED ON EVERY NETWORK.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE PROVIDER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM TV MALFUNCTION, NETWORK ISSUES, DATA LOSS, OR THIRD-PARTY SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR USD $10 IF YOU PAID NOTHING.
We may modify the App or these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
We may stop offering the App or these Terms at any time. Upon termination, your license ends and you should stop using and delete the App. Paid entitlements remain subject to Apple’s purchase terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country apply.
